First Empire / Napoleon I (1804–1814). 2-franc module, depicting King Frederick of Württemberg’s visit to the Paris Mint, by Tiolier, Special Strike (SP) 1809, Paris.
Obverse: FRED. KING OF - WURTEMBERG. On two palm fronds, an oval shield divided between the banner of the Holy Roman Empire and that of Württemberg; below, Tiolier’s cursive signature.
Reverse: Inscription in 6 lines: HIS MAJESTY THE KING / OF WURTEMBERG / VISITS THE IMPERIAL MINT / OF PARIS / ON 27 DECEMBER / 1809.

Special strike (SP) in medal form with a smooth edge. This is the first type featuring the coat of arms divided between the banner of the Holy Roman Empire and that of Württemberg. With a shiny brown patina. Superb in Proof condition.
Frederick I was the first King of Württemberg (1805–1816). He was Standard-Bearer of the Holy Roman Empire (coat of arms featuring a black eagle [black] on a gold field), which is reflected in this first type, showing his office combined with the arms of Württemberg (three half-antlers of a stag in sable [black] on a gold field).
