FRANCE - FRANCE First Empire / Napoleon I (1804–1814). 2-franc module, depicting the King and Queen of Bavaria’s visit to the Paris Mint, by Tiolier, Special Strike (SP) 1810, Paris. Obverse: MAXIMILIEN JOSEPH. On an entablature, the crowned coat of arms of Bavaria supported by two crowned lions. Reverse: Inscription in 7 lines: L.L. M.M. / THE KING AND QUEEN / OF BAVARIA / VISIT THE IMPERIAL MINT / OF PARIS / ON 5 FEBRUARY / 1810. G.505c - Maz.636b - Théret/Taillard 1706.a.3; Copper – 9.22 g – 28 mm – 12 h This is the second-highest grade! PCGS SP63BN (58336813). Special strike (SP). Medal-style strike with the edge inscribed in intaglio: + BALANCIER À VIROLE ADOPTÉ EN 1803. Minimal signs of circulation. A brown patina covers the fields with traces of the original red colour.
