Trial strike in solid ring using the Salneuve process, for the Mint of the King of Holland in Utrecht, in the style of the florin or gulden, by Brenet and Salneuve, Special Strike (SP) ND (1808), Paris. Obverse: NAPOLEON - EMPEROR. Laureate bust of Napoleon facing right; below, signature BRENET F. Rev. In six lines: TRIAL COIN / MINTED / IN FULL RING / BY THE PROCESS / OF / SALNEUVE. G.505bis – Maz.605a – VG.1559 – Théret/Taillard 1509.a.2; Bronze – 10.49 g – 29.3 mm – 6 h This is the second-highest grade! PCGS SP62BN (58336816). Special Strike (SP). The signature on the obverse is obscured and out of place on this specimen. Minor handling marks. With a brown patina. Superb in Proof condition.
