Louis XVIII (1814–1824). 5-franc trial coin by Trébuchet (the King’s exile in Ghent during the Hundred Days), Special Strike (SP) 1815 [c.1870], angel’s head, Brussels.
Obverse: LOUIS XVIII – KING OF FRANCE. Bust facing left, head wearing a laurel wreath; signature TREBUCHET and (mint).
Rev. On a fleur-de-lis-adorned mantle and beneath a crown, the joined coats of arms of France and Navarre, surrounded by the respective chains; around the edge, 5 - F and below (date).

Special strike (SP). Edge inscription in relief with three bands: POIDS VINGT-CINQ / GRAMMES * TITRE / NEUF DIXIEMES *. Vigorously struck with very high ridges. The relief has a slightly satin finish and a fine patina with golden highlights. Superb in Proof condition.
