Obverse: * LOUIS * XVIII * KING * - * OF * FRANCE *. Crowned bust, in coronation robes, facing right; below, signature N. TIOLIER and (rooster).
Reverse: Within a wreath formed of two laurel branches, the crowned shield of France, flanked by 40 - FR; (date) below and in the exergue (mint mark).

In bronzed pewter, with a smooth edge. Two dents behind the bust. A small defect on the rim at 1 o’clock. Beautiful dark patina. Superb.
