FRANCE - FRANCE Louis XVIII (1814–1824). 5-franc trial coin, 1815 competition, 2nd type by Droz, burnished blank (PROOF) 1815, A, Paris. Obverse: LOUIS XVIII ROI - DE FRANCE. Bust in uniform facing left, with the Order of the Holy Spirit; below, the signature DROZ F. Reverse: PIECE DE CINQ FRANCS. Within a wreath formed of two laurel branches, the crowned coat of arms of France; in the exergue (variant) (date) (mint). G.602b v. – Maz.730a – VG.2445 – Théret/Taillard 2022.b.4; Copper – 37 mm – 6 h NGC PF 64 BN (3479102-001). On a burnished blank (PROF). With a brown patina over the original red colour. Almost proof.
