FRANCE - FRANCE Louis XVIII (1814–1824). Coin-shaped medal, visit to the Limoges Mint on 3 August 1814 by the Duke of Angoulême, Special Strike (SP) 1814, Limoges. Obverse: AMORIS PIGNUS. Within a central circle, three fleurs-de-lis. Reverse: MONNAIE DE LIMOGES. In the centre: HOMMAGE / A. S. A. R. / MGR THE DUKE / OF ANGOULÊME and below AUGUST 1814. G.- - Maz.799 - VG.2369 v. (Br) - Théret/Taillard 2707.b.1; Silver – 14.53 g – 32.4 mm – 12 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! PCGS SP62 (58336925). Special Strike (SP). By Lavallée (unsigned).
