Louis XVIII (1814–1824). Coin-shaped medal, visit to the Limoges Mint on 2 March 1815 by the Duke and Duchess of Angoulême, Special Strike (SP) MDCCCXV (1815), Limoges.
Obverse: REGN. DILECTISSIMO PRINCIPE LUDOVICO XVIII. Centred within a wreath of thirty-two fleurs-de-lis and a circular legend, the inscription in three lines: DECUS/ AMOR ET SPES/ GALLIÆ.
Reverse: ATELIER MONÉTAIRE DE LIMOGES / II. MARS. MDCCCXV. Three fleurs-de-lis in the field. In the centre, the inscription in four lines: A / LL. AA. RR / Mgr. ET Mde. LA Desse. / D’ANGOULÊME.

Minted to mark the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Angoulême on 2 March 1815, whilst they were travelling to Bordeaux to celebrate the anniversary of the Allies’ entry into the city on 12 March 1814. It is worth noting that the day before, 1 March 1815, Napoleon and his men had landed in the roadstead of Golfe-Juan with the aid of seven ships
