Obverse: CHARLES FERDINAND – CAROLINE FERDINANDE; the joined oval coats of arms of Berry and Naples beneath a princely crown, flanked by a laurel branch and a lily branch; in the exergue, the signature N. Tiolier. Reverse. In the field: LL. AA. RR./ HIS GRACE THE DUKE/ OF BERRY/ HER GRACE THE DUCHESS/ OF BERRY/ VISIT THE PARIS MINT/ ON 18 NOV. 1817. G.617c - Maz.791 v. (Ag) - VG.2500 v. (Ag) - Théret/Taillard 2718.4; Copper - 21.42 g - 37 mm - 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! PCGS SP63RB (58336940). Special Strike (SP). With an intaglio edge: (lily) DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM. Retaining much of its original red colour, with a slight patina developing. Superb in Proof condition.
