Charles X (1824–1830). 5-franc set, depicting the visit of the Prince of Salerno and the Duchess of Berry to the Paris Mint, by N. Tiolier, Special Strike (SP) 1825, Paris.
Obverse: CHARLES X KING - OF FRANCE. Bare head facing left; below, signature N. Tiolier.
Reverse: In the field, in eight lines: LL. AA. RR. / THE PRINCE / OF SALERNO, / MADAME, / THE DUCHESS OF BERRY / VISIT THE PARIS MINT / ON 22 JULY 1825.

Special Strike (SP). Engraved edge: (lily) DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM. Minimal marks on the obverse. With a slight brown patina over the original red colour. Superb in Proof condition.
Leopold Jean Joseph Michel de Bourbon, Prince of Naples and Sicily, later of the Two Sicilies, and Prince of Salerno (1790–1851), was the fifteenth child of King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies and his wife Marie-Caroline of Austria. He was the younger brother of Francis I, King of the Two Sicilies (1825–1830), who was the father of Marie-Caroline, Duchess of Berry, who was therefore visiting with her uncle.
