FRANCE - FRANCE First Empire / Napoleon I (1804–1814). 2 francs, Revolutionary Calendar Year 12 (1804), MA, Marseille. Obverse: NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. Bare head facing right, with the cursive signature ‘Tiolier’ below. Reverse: RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. Within a wreath formed of two branches: 2 FRANCS, below (variant) AN (date) and (mint). G.495 - F.251; Silver - 27 mm - 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! NGC VF 25 (2150854-016). All specimens from Year 12 are rare for this type, and NGC has graded only two specimens: one from Paris and our specimen! With even wear and a grey patina. Very Fine to Very Good.
