Obverse: NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. Laureate head facing right, with the signature ‘Tiolier’ in cursive script below.
Reverse: EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Within a wreath formed of two branches: 2 FRANCS; below, (variant) (date). (mint).

Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! From the R. Margolis collection and from the CGF 40 sale, 24 September 2009, lot 462 (“This is the only known specimen that was not illustrated in the Collection Idéale” [in 2009]).

Only 4,534 copies minted! Minor scratches on the reverse but with even wear, featuring an anthracite-grey patina with subtle golden highlights. Almost TTB.
