Obverse: NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. Laureate head facing right, with the cursive signature ‘Tiolier’ below.
Reverse: EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Within a wreath formed of two branches: DEMI FRANC, with (variant) (date) below. (mint).

Top Pop: this is the finest specimen graded in the PCGS Population Report, but there is a specimen graded MS63, lot 1592 in the MDC 16 sale, which is superior! From the R. Margolis collection, acquired at a T. Parsy Expert auction on 29 March 1999, lot 257.

This specimen has seen very little circulation and is covered in a lovely grey collector’s patina. Superb.
