Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 50 francs, bareheaded, 1858, BB, Strasbourg. Obverse: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR. Bare head facing right, with (variant) and the signature ‘BARRE’ below. Rev. EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantle and crossing the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by ‘50 – FR’; below (mint mark) (date) (variant). G.1111 – F.547 – Fr.571; Gold – 28 mm – 6 h This is the second-highest grade! PCGS MS64 (51826730). A few scratches, particularly on the bust. With a slightly matt golden patina, missing only from the upper parts. Minor knocks on the rim on the reverse. Superb in mint condition.
