Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 50 francs, bareheaded, 1859, BB, Strasbourg. Obverse: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR. Bare head facing right, with ‘différent’ below and the signature ‘BARRE’. Rev. EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantle and crossing the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by ‘50 – FR’; below (mint) (date) (variant). G.1111 - F.547 - Fr.571; Gold - 16.09 g - 28 mm - 6 h NGC MS 63 (8769663-032). With a slight matt golden patina, barely scratched. Minimal marks in the fields. Superb, near-mint condition.
