Obverse: NAPOLEON III BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE NATIONAL WILL. Bare head facing left, below the signature BARRE, (various) and (date).
Rev. EMPEROR OF THE FRENCH. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantle and overlying the sceptre and the hand of justice; below, 5 – F and (mint mark).
