Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 5-franc bare-headed trial coin, by Bouvet, Special Strike (SP) 1853, Paris. Obverse: NAPOLEON III BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE NATIONAL WILL. Bare head facing left, with the signature BOUVET F. below. Reverse: EMPEROR OF THE FRENCH. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantle and overlying the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 5 - F; below (date). G.731 - Maz.1635 - VG.3326; Silver – 37 mm – 6 h PCGS SP55 (80063284). Special strike (SP) with a plain edge. Traces of circulation with marks, hairline scratches and a few knocks on the fields. Almost Superb.
