FRANCE - FRANCE Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 2-franc proof coin, bare head, smooth edge, by Bouvet, Special Strike (SP) 1856, A, Paris. Obverse: NAPOLEON III – EMPEREUR. Bareheaded head facing left, with the signature ‘BOUVET F’ below. Rev. EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantle and crossing the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 2 - F; below (date). G.524 v. – Maz.1653b v. – VG.3468 v.; Silver-plated pewter – 8.30 g – 27 mm – 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! PCGS SP62 (45859634). Special Strike (SP). Smooth edge.
