Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 100 francs, laureate head, 1862, A, Paris. Obverse: NAPOLEON III – EMPEROR. Laureate head facing right, with ‘différent’ below and the signature ‘BARRE’. Rev. EMPIRE – FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantling and surmounting the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 100 – FRs; below (mint mark) (date) (variant). G.1136 - F.551 - Fr.580; Gold - 32.24 g - 35 mm - 6 h NGC MS 64 (8769660-013). A few fine scratches on the reverse. The obverse is well-preserved, with a lovely matt golden patina. Superb in mint condition.
