Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 100 francs, laureate head, 1869, BB, Strasbourg. Obverse: NAPOLEON III – EMPEROR. Laurel-wreathed head facing right, with ‘différent’ below and the signature ‘BARRE’. Rev. EMPIRE – FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantling and overhanging the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 100 – FRs; below (mint mark) (date) (variant). G.1136 – F.551 – Fr.580; Gold – 32.29 g – 35 mm – 6 h NGC AU 58 (8769660-011). Only minimal signs of handling and wear, with no major flaws. Superb.
