Obverse: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR. Laureate head facing right, with ‘différent’ below and the signature ‘BARRE’.
Reverse: EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantling and surmounting the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 100 – FRs; below: (mint) (date) (variant).

Only 10,460 specimens were minted, most of which were remelted, apart from a few examples: a legendary year of issue and of the utmost rarity! Our specimen shows even wear, two fine scratches on the obverse, with a slight patina with golden highlights. Almost Superb.
