Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 20-franc trial coin with laureate head, designed by Albert Barre, Special Strike (SP) 1861, Paris.
Obverse: NAPOLEON III – EMPEREUR. Bare head facing right; below (star) BARRE.
Rev. EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantle and surmounting the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 20 – FR; below (star) (date) (anchor).
