Second Empire / Napoleon III (1852–1870). 2-franc trial coin with laureate head, double anchor (differently struck), fluted edge, burnished blank (PROOF) 1866, E, Paris.
Obverse: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR (mint mark). Laurel-wreathed head facing left, with the signature ‘BARRE’ below.
Rev. EMPIRE FRANÇAIS. Imperial coat of arms resting on a crowned mantling and surmounting the sceptre and the hand of justice, flanked by 2 - F; below (anchor) (date) (anchor).
