Third Republic (1870–1940). Medal, Commemorating the Universal Exhibition, by Jules-Édouard Roiné, SAMF No. 146, 1900, Paris.
Obverse: LA. FRANCE. WELCOMES AND. CROWNES. THE. GENIUS OF. THE. TEN. WORLDS. The French Republic, seated on a throne on the right, with a fasce and a cockerel at her feet, accompanied by allegories of the Arts and Industry, receives the representatives of the world in a procession; signed J. E. ROINE and D’APRES A BESNARD.
Reverse: UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION MDCCCC. Aerial view of Paris, in perspective, with, in the foreground, the various buildings erected specifically for the Universal Exhibition, such as the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais; signed J. E. ROINE.

On the edge, hallmarks (horn) BRONZE (lizard) and number 146. Only 153 copies were struck in bronze and distributed to members of the Société des Amis de la Médaille Française.
This plaque is rarer in bronze than in silver! Slight mark on the reverse (trace of a run). Superb.
