FRANCE - FRANCE Third Republic (1870–1940). Medal commemorating the centenary of the Banque de France, designed by O. Roty, 1900, Paris. Obverse: CENTENARY. OF THE BANK. OF FRANCE. 1800–1900. The Republic, clad in armour and wearing a helmet, facing left; below, the signature O. ROTY. Reverse: CONFIDENCE AND LABOUR. Two women, representing Confidence and Labour, on the left, facing a flowing river. Maier 109 – Maz.190; Silver – 121.6 g – 68 mm – 12 h In a brown imitation leather case with gold edging. Attributed on the reverse to HENRI TERNYNCK. Hallmark (horn) SILVER. Matt blank. Almost proof condition.
