Obverse: RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. Draped and armoured bust of the Republic facing left, wearing the cap of Liberty adorned with two laurel branches; signature A. PATEY.
Reverse: LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ around a square inscribed: 25 CENTIMES. Below, (variant) (date) (variant) with ESSAI.
