Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Third Republic (1870–1940). 25-centime trial coin, Lindauer competition, small module 1913, Paris. Obverse: ‘RF’ around the central perforation, surmounted by a Phrygian cap, all within a wreath formed of two branches; signature ‘EM. LINDAUER’. Reverse: ‘LIBERTÉ. ÉGALITÉ / FRATERNITÉ’. Central perforation flanked by two olive branches and ‘25 – CMES, ESSAI’ beneath ‘MES’; below, the date and the monogram ‘EEL’. GEM.77.2 – Maz.2146a – VG.4757; Nickel – 3.01 g – 19 mm – 6 h From the Kolsky collection, CGB Monnaies VI no. 1666. NGC MS 64 (8772187-002). No variations, but with the EEL monogram after the date. A special strike with satin-finished reliefs. The small module is harder to find than the large one! Superb in Proof condition.
