FRANCE - FRANCE Third Republic (1870–1940). 25-centime trial coin, date with dots, by Lindauer, in nickel silver, Special Strike (SP) 1938, Paris. Obverse: R – F around the central round perforation, surmounted by a Phrygian cap, all within a wreath formed of two oak branches; signature EM. LINDAUER. Reverse: LIBERTÉ. ÉGALITÉ / FRATERNITÉ. Central perforation flanked by two olive branches and 25 – CMES, ESSAI beneath MES; the (various) on the left and right; below, between dots, (date). GEM.78.3 – Maz.2596 – VG.5485; Nickel silver – 4.16 g – 24 mm – 6 h Top Pop (3): this is the finest graded specimen! PCGS SP67 (56278521). Special Strike (SP) with matt relief on a mirror-finish field.
