Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Third Republic (1870–1940). Lindauer 10-centime trial coin, date with dots, three-lobed perforation, Special Strike (SP) 1939, Paris. Obverse: ‘RF’ around the central perforation, surmounted by a Phrygian cap, all within a wreath formed of two branches; signature ‘EM. LINDAUER’; ‘ESSAI’ from bottom to top in the stem of the ‘R’. Reverse: ‘LIBERTE. EGALITE. FRATERNITE’ (date). Centre hole flanked by two olive branches and 10 - CMES; below .(date). GEM.41.9 (not photographed); Zinc – 21 mm – 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! PCGS SP63 (83894902). Special Strike (SP) on a zinc blank, with a three-lobed perforation (four round perforations forming three lobes). Slight grey patina.
