Third Republic (1870–1940). Binary alloy trial coin, ‘Génie’ type, by the Société Française de Monnayage, special strike (SP) ND (1929), Paris.
Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. Winged Genius of the Republic standing facing right, engraving the word CONSTITUTION on a tablet, flanked by a sheaf of wheat on the left and a cockerel on the right; in the exergue: signatures A.B. and Dupré.
Reverse: * SOCIÉTÉ FRANÇAISE DE MONNAYAGE. Centred in four lines: ESSAI/ ALLIAGE BINAIRE/ D’ARGENT/ TITRE: 0.680 and below (corner).
