Description
FRANCE - FRANCE Third Republic (1870–1940). 5-franc Bazor trial coin, without variations, in copper-aluminium, 1933, Paris. Obverse: REPVBLIQVE – FRANCAISE. Head of the Republic facing right, wearing a cap of liberty, with ‘ESSAI’ at the top; below, the date and the signature ‘L. BAZOR’. Reverse: LIBERTE / EGALITE / FRATERNITE. Within a composite wreath formed of a laurel branch and an oak branch, with ears of corn, olives and a central bunch of grapes: 5 / FRANCS. GEM.134.11 - Maz.- - VG.-; Copper-aluminium - 6.02 g - 24 mm - 12 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! NGC MS 65 (8772187-004). Special strike with satin-finish reliefs, on a copper-aluminium blank. No variations. The fields are barely tarnished. Superb in Proof condition.
