Third Republic (1870–1940). 5-franc trial coin, 1933 competition entry, in cupro-aluminium, large module, by R. Cochet, 1933, Paris.
Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. Bust of the Republic facing left, wearing a cap of liberty adorned with an olive branch; behind, the signature R. COCHET.
Reverse: Within an endless wreath of ears of corn: 5 / FRANCS/ (variant) (date) (variant) and ESSAI at the top.
