Third Republic (1870–1940). 2-franc Morlon trimetallic coin, obverse plated in cupronickel, Special Strike (SP) 1936, Paris.
Obverse: REPVBLIQVE - FRANÇAISE. Laureate head of the Republic facing left, with the signature MORLON behind.
Rev. LIBERTE - EGALITE / FRATERNITE. Between two cornucopias: 2 FRANCS (variant) (date) (variant).

Special Strike (SP). Not a trial strike. Magnetic iron blank, with a cupronickel plating on the obverse and a copper plating on the reverse! Only a few fingerprints on the field. Only three examples known, according to Taillard and Arnaud. Superb in Proof condition.
