Obverse: REPVBLIQVE FRANCAISE. Front view of the head of the Republic, wearing the cap of Liberty and with long hair, flanked by two figures symbolising industry on the left and agriculture on the right; signatures H. DROPSY and GALTIÉ GR; below (date).
Reverse: LIBERTE. EGALITE – FRATERNITE. On a globe inscribed with ‘25 OBOLES’, Equality with broken chains, between Liberty and Fraternity; signatures H – DROPSY – CORBIN – GR.

H. Dropsy, who taught at the École des Beaux-Arts, was behind this private initiative, carried out with the help of the young André Léon Galtié (aged 26) and Raymond Corbin (aged 27). Corbin would, in fact, go on to succeed him at the École des Beaux-Arts as a lecturer in medal engraving in 1955.
