Fifth Republic (1958 to the present). 50-franc gold ‘Hercules’ piéfort, Special Strike (SP) 1974, Pessac.
Obverse: LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ. Hercules standing facing the viewer with the lion’s skin, uniting Liberty, standing on the left holding a pike surmounted by a Phrygian cap, and Equality, standing on the right, holding a spirit level. In the exergue, the cursive signature ‘Dupré’.
Reverse: RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE (date). A crown formed of two branches. In the centre: 50 FRANCS.
