Fifth Republic (1958 to the present). Pre-series 5-franc ‘Semeuse’ coin in copper-aluminium, Special Strike (SP) 1967, Paris.
Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. The Sower facing left, with the rising sun, walking and sowing against the wind; signed O. ROTY.
Reverse: LIBERTE. EGALITE. FRATERNITE. An olive branch and an oak branch surmounted by (variant) 5 (variant) FRANCS and (date) below.
Condition: (see 154.7, gilded cupronickel); cupraluminium – 29 mm – 6 h

PCGS SP66 (32239889).
Special Strike (SP) on a cupro-aluminium blank, with a finely fluted edge. Only 3 specimens known (?) but missing from Taillard and Arnaud’s catalogues in this metal! Slight brown patina developing. Superb in Proof condition.
