GREAT BRITAIN William I the Conqueror (1066–1087). Type 2 denier with a cap, minted by Refwine ND (c. 1068–1070), Worcester. Obverse: + PILLELM REX. Draped and crowned bust facing forward, holding a sceptre. Reverse (at 11 o’clock): + REFWINE ON PIHR. Cross with a ring at its centre within a recessed lozenge. S.1251; Silver – 1.23 g – 19 mm – 3 h PCGS AU58 (56278444). Slightly clovered strike on the obverse. Iridescent antique patina. Very Fine to Superb.
