The king standing in a ship’s hold with a shield and holding his sword aloft; (differently) on the shell. Reverse: + IH’C* AVTEM: TRANSIENS: PER: MEDIV: ILLORV'x IBAT. A leafed and fleur-de-lis cross bearing in its centre an angled quatrefoil containing an H and flanked by four crowned leopards, the whole within an octalobe flanked by eight shamrocks. S.1743 - Fr.109; Gold - 6.95 g - 30.5 mm - 3 h NGC AU 58 (S-1741) (8769663-026). With a small broken ring as a distinguishing feature on the rim. Ring and star to the left of the sword, small shamrock to the right of the shield. An initial pierced cross. This specimen has seen little circulation and has a beautiful golden patina. Superb.
