The King standing face-on in a ship’s hull, holding a raised sword and a shield; an ‘E’ in the banner at the stern and a rose on the hull; (mint mark) on the waves. Rev. (different) IhC. AVT’. TRANSIENS. PER. MEDIVM. ILLORV’. I. BAT. A leafed and fleur-de-lis cross flanked by four crowned leopards within an octolobe flanked by small shamrocks; a radiant rose at the centre of the cross. S.1958 (105) - Fr.132; Gold - 7.46 g - 33 mm - 4 h NGC AU 53 (8772187-035). Featuring an uncial ‘E’ in the waves for York. A variety featuring small shamrocks on the reverse. The blank is slightly short and shows even wear. Slight golden patina. Very Good to Superb.
