Bust of Bonaparte facing left, with the signature LAVY and ANNO VIII below. Reverse: XII MVNITISSIMIS OPPIDIS VNA DIE AD DEDITIONEM COACTIS. Hercules lifting up Italy, seated beside a withered laurel tree, and in the background a Victory inscribing on a shield: HOSTIBVS/ PROPE/ MARENGVM/ FVSIS; signatures A. APP. INV. and L. F.; in the exergue: RESPVBLICA CISALPINA RESTITVTA. Br.42 – Jul.802 – Ess.838 – Forrer I p.66; Silver – 72.57 g – 53 mm – 12 h With a collector’s label. Only minimal signs of handling and a grey patina with slight bluish highlights. A very fine bust and a magnificent composition on the reverse. Superb.
