Draped and armoured bust, seen in three-quarter profile from behind, facing left. Rev. PIACENTIA. FLORET. Three lilies surmounted by a fleur-de-lis crown; in the foreground, a she-wolf on the left; below: (variant) and (date). MIR.1137/8 - Fr.899; Gold - 29 mm - 8 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! NGC AU 55 (2621286-015). A rare posthumous issue by Ranuccio Farnese in the name and effigy of his father, Alessandro Farnese. Beautifully struck, fairly well centred, with slight, even wear and a lovely golden patina.
