AN. (date). Bust of the Supreme Pontiff facing left; below, the signature I. BIANCHI. F. Reverse: ARCHIGYMNASIVM. ROMANVM. Within a wreath formed of two laurel branches: HONORIS LAVREAM MERITVS and, in the exergue, the signature N. C. Gold – 50.48 g and 50.53 g – 43.5 mm – 12 h In a red morocco box with gold edging, attributed to ANTONINI ALBERTO. NGC MS 61 PL (8219203-002 and 003). With a burnished proof finish (PROOFLIKE). A dent on the rim at 7 o’clock. Hairline scratches on the fields and slight fingerprints. The original lustre is visible beneath a light patina. A unique and well-documented set. Superb.
