The Lion of St Mark on a pedestal inscribed XI AGOSTO / MDCCCXLVIII; in the exergue: VENEZIA. Reverse: ALLEANZA DEI POPOLI LIBERI. Within a wreath formed of two oak branches: 20 / LIRE and in the exergue *(date)*. Fr.1518; Gold – 21 mm – 6 h PCGS MS62PL (56278579). Proof-like appearance, with satin-finish relief on mirror-like fields. Only minimal marks on the fields. Slight golden patina. Superb, near-proof condition.
