Savoy (Duchy of), Victor Amadeus II (1675–1730). Set of 3 medals, Battle of Carpi d’Adige (Veneto), the first battle of the War of the Spanish Succession fought by Prince Eugene of Savoy, by M. Brunner and G. F. Nürnberger, 1701, Nuremberg.
Obverse: FREGI ALPES, GALEISQVE - PADVM VICTRICIBVS HAVSI. Claud. [Claudian]. Armoured bust facing right of Prince Eugene of Savoy-Carignan, with the signature MB; in the exergue: EUGENIUS SAB: PRINC: / SVPR: EXERCIT: CÆS: / IN ITAL: DVX.

Ribbed edge (silver and tin): NEC SIMILIS LATIAS PATEFECIT GLORIA PORTAS. CLAVD (G.F.N.) [Claudian] and a smooth edge on the bronze. Minimal signs of handling have formed a light patina. Superb, mint condition.
