A gold example was offered in sale MDC 10, lot 1305. Only minimal marks on the fields. Slight patina. Superb, near-mint condition.
King Victor Emmanuel II had expressed a wish to be buried in Piedmont, in the Basilica of Superga. However, his successor, Umberto I, at the request of the City of Rome, agreed that the King’s remains should be interred in the Pantheon in Rome
