Description
MOROCCO Mohammed V (1927–1961). 10-franc silver trial coin, unadopted type, Special Strike (SP) AH 1347 (1928), Paris. Obverse: EMPIRE CHÉRIFIEN. Legend with Cherifian star and (date). Rev. Legend and star formed of two squares, with 10 and ESSAI in the centre within a circle. Engraver Émile Lindauer’s monogram at both ends of the lower frieze. Lec.249; Silver – 28 mm – 12 h PCGS SP65 (48798293). Special Strike (SP). With a grey patina and a few fingerprints. Almost Proof. This trial led to the minting of 65,000 copies for circulation (Lec.252), which were remelted due to errors in the Arabic inscriptions. The final issue (Lec.255) features a new reverse, with the various regulatory markings
