MOROCCO Mohammed V (1927–1961). 10-franc silver trial coin, unadopted type, Special Strike (SP) AH 1347 (1928), Paris. Obverse: EMPIRE CHÉRIFIEN. Legend with Cherifian star and (date). Rev. Legend and star formed of two squares, with 10 and ESSAI in the centre within a circle. Engraver Émile Lindauer’s monogram at both ends of the lower frieze. Lec.249; Silver – 28 mm – 12 h PCGS SP65 (48798293). Special Strike (SP). With a grey patina and a few fingerprints. Almost Proof. This trial led to the minting of 65,000 copies for circulation (Lec.252), which were remelted due to errors in the Arabic inscriptions.
