RUSSIA - RUSSIA Nicholas II (1894–1917). Gold medal commemorating the coronation of Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna in Moscow, by A. Vasyutinsky, 1896. Obverse: ИМПЕРАТОРЪ НИКОЛАЙ II. И ИМПЕРАТРИЦА АЛЕКСАНДРА ѲЕОДОРОВНА / КОРОНОВАНЫ. 1896. IN MOSCOW. Side-by-side busts on the left; below, signature A. BAC - KIИ. Reverse: GOD BE WITH US. A crowned double-headed eagle with outspread wings. It holds a sceptre and an orb in its talons. On her bust, the coat of arms of the city of Moscow is surrounded by the collar of the Order of St Andrew. On the wings are the coats of arms of the kingdoms of Kazan, Poland, Astrakhan, Taurida, Siberia and the Grand Duchy of Finland. Diakov 1206.2; Gold – 106.1 g – 51 mm – 12 h A chip on the flange at 3 o’clock on the reverse and minor knocks to the flanges. Signs of wear on the fields. Superb.
