Description
TUNISIA Mohamed el-Moncef, Bey (1942–1943). 100-franc gold coin, 1943 – AH 1362, Paris. Obverse: TUNISIE. Set against a floral background, in the centre (date) and (various). Reverse: In a cartouche between an olive branch and a palm frond: inscriptions and (date). Lec.508; Gold – 21 mm – 6 h Top Pop: this is the only specimen graded (in the correct category with AH 1362)! NGC MS 66 (AH 1363) (8769676-020). Only 33 examples of this issue were struck for Moncef Bey, who was deposed on 14 May 1943 (AH 1362), followed by 33 examples for Lamine Bey, this time bearing the date AH 1363. Extremely rare. Mint condition.
