Aghlabid Dynasty Set of three gold coins comprising: - A dinar of Muhammad I (226–242 AH) - A dinar of Ibrahim II (261–289 AH) - A half-dinar of Abdallah II (289–290 AH) Condition: B–TB Material: Gold Weight: 4.05, 4.23 and 3.48 grams The Aghlabids, emirs of Kairouan and nominal vassals of Baghdad, launched the conquest of Byzantine Sicily in 827, ushering in nearly two centuries of Muslim presence on the island. This lot brings together three emirs of the dynasty (Muhammad I, Ibrahim II and Abdallah II), allowing us to trace the evolution of coinage over several generations.
