Description
NICE MAZARIN DESKTOP in native and precious wood veneer with rich marquetry decoration on the 3 sides and the top. It opens with a series of 7 curved drawers framing a small door. It stands on sheath legs joined by a double X-shaped brace ending in gilded balls. The marquetry is richly decorated with floral baskets framed by busts of winged women, birds and garlands of leaves and flowers. The frames are in gilded wood (restorations). Early 18th century. W.109 D.63 H.80.
